My name is Margaret Knowlden, and my journey as an artist has been shaped by two landscapes: the rugged beauty of Long Island's East End, where my roots run deep, and the sunlit serenity of Jupiter, Florida, where my family and I settled in 2019.  Here, the coastal waterways, lush parks, and endless skies have become my muse, offering inspiration at every turn. 

I paint en plein air whenever the day invites me outdoors, tracing the dance of light and shadow accross beaches, marinas and historic streets.  Each canvas is a conversation with nature - a way to capture not just what I see, but what I feel in that fleeting instant.  My subjects range from tranquil seascapes to architectural treasures, each infused with the spirt of this vibrant coastal community.  

Over the years, my work has found homes in galleries, colleges, and libraries. I've had the privilege of learning from master artists and sculptors who have shaped my craft.  Yet my journey remains one of exploration - experimenting with mediums, embracing new techniques, and letting curiosity guide my brush.
